HGTV’s Married to Real Estate Cancelled After Four Seasons — Read Co-Hosts’ Statement

After four seasons, HGTV has cancelled Married to Real Estate, the home renovation series hosted by Egypt Sherrod and her husband Mike Jackson.

Sherrod shared the cancellation news via Instagram Tuesday. “Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,” read the couple’s joint statement. “While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other).

“There’s more to say, and we’ll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise. We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Stay tuned.”

This news comes on the heels of Bargain Block co-host Keith Bynum claiming that his show is abruptly ending. [HGTV] decided in February, after we got everything ready for Season 5, that they weren’t gonna do it,” he posted on June 19.

Married to Real Estate debuted on HGTV in January 2022 and aired a total of 44 episodes across its four season-run. The show followed the property experts and their team of builders as they helped their clients in Atlanta get into their dream homes.

Before embarking on the series, Sherrod hosted HGTV’s Flipping Virgins from 2015 to 2018. Then, the couple appeared together as blind judges on Season 2 of Rock the Block. They returned the following season to compete and were declared the winners of Season 3.
